QUI NOUS ESPIO NOUS AIMO (He who discovers Eauze, will like Eauze) Eauze is a dynamic town where historical charm merges with modern trends. At the heart of Gascony, Eauze once called Elusa, used to be the provincial capital of the Gallo-Roman Novempopulania and is now the capital of the Armagnac region. Well-known for its flea markets and trade fairs, Eauze is an ideal place to live and work thanks to the optical fiber.

Once capital of the Gallo-Roman Novempopulania under the name of Elusa, Eauze is nowadays the capital of Armagnac. With the collapse of the Western Roman Empire in the early fifth century A.D., Novempopulania passed under the control of the kingdom of the Visigoths. There are still numerous traces of those times, in particular the Treasure of Eauze: 28,000 coins and precious objects were unearthed on the site of the old city in 1985 and are on display in the town's archaeological museum. Eauze is a pleasant Gascoigne town much appreciated by nature lovers which will provide you with a very warm welcome. Landscape is varied and picturesque with rolling hills, deeply wooded valleys and vast plains. Eauze is also the heart of the wine-growing area producing “Côtes de Gascogne Vins de Pays” and you will find in the village, the finest specialties of the South West, including the famous foie gras and the Floc de Gascogne. As a common saying goes, "Qui nous espio, nous aimo" ("He who discovers Eauze, will like Eauze")
