Originally Gascon, my grandfather was the man who produced the electricity in Mauvezin at the grinder factory. Since I was young, I have been very implicated in the local community life. I was elected councillor at 27 years old then mayor in 1977.
I led a complete renovation of the old town thanks to the achievement of the project “Village Operation” and I set up a holiday village in the restored buildings. Come and visit a little town full of authenticity and modernity. I will be here to help you to settle in the village.

Chosen as capital of the Fezensaguet around 920, mentioned in 1142 in the cartulary of the Gimont abbey, this castle was opened during the 13th century (1275) to be fitted out as a fortified town: a covered market, beautiful constructions with arcades rolling up the central place, a suburb in the lower town with a regular structure.
To discover:
-Saint Michel Church: after having suffered the devastation of the religious wars, it was rebuilt in 1829; its gothic bell tower of the 13th century is graded historical monuments.
-the Protestant tabernacle: edified in the 17th century. It was destroyed in 1684 during the religious wars, then, built again during the 19th century.
-the Place and the covered market: in the heart of the fortified town, a sweet place surrounded by arcades and old houses (a covered market of the 14th century, a Town Hall of the 19th century, the fountain…)
-the Castle walk: edified on the ruins of the former castle destroyed in 1621. All along the walk, you can admire the panorama and the terraces.
-the lake and the grinder are situated at the entry of the town: a park planted with trees edges a lake occupied by ducks.
-the beautiful grinder which treadles the Arrats river.
-the Jeanne d'Albret tower which dominates the alleys of the lower town since the 14th century.
Since 1970, the city has featured its alleys, its strong place, the terraces of the castle and its nice homes made in white stones. The municipality has led a plan of action to renovate unoccupied houses and change them in bed and breakfast which allows the town to have a more active life on summer.
