The Mayor : Suzanne MACABIAU, born in 1951 in Agen, Geography-History teacher. She is the mayor of Miradoux since 2001 and she was a town councillor for 6 years.
I am a teacher in Toulouse, I live and I am native from Miradoux.
My village hosts 550 inhabitants and we have decided to put in place a strategy plan in order to welcome new people, such as Sohos (or e-workers). Precisely, we have the high speed Internet access 1 Mo, and we also offer host opportunities. We are waiting for you and be sure you will be welcomed in our village. I will try my best to help you. "I come from the Parisian Region and I arrived in this little village when I was 12 years old. Since 2006, I have been the "multi-task" town employee in Miradoux, and now I am working on the project SOHO SOLO.
It goes without saying that so far, I have been rewarded for my attachment to this village."
We have decided in Miradoux to welcome new inhabitants, such as Sohos (or e-workers), in order to make our village more dynamic. To that end, Miradoux put in place several projects related to land use planning in order to attract people. We have decided to:
• Rehabilitate abandoned houses in the village centre
- Review the urban village plan from 2006 on, in order to make serviced building land available
- Initiate a project of a new housing estate (8 lots)
• Embellishment of the village:
The centre of the village was refurbished: creation of a little place, renovation of the “Grande Rue”. This action will be extended into the village.
• Associations and cultural life:
We decided to build a multi-purpose room because associative life in Miradoux is developed. In this room, we will be able to organize more spectacles.
• Economic development:
Miradoux has all basic services and an important tourism activity.

Welcome to Miradoux, a certain way of life is waiting for you in this little county town, rich of history.
The Castelnau of Miradoux was founded in 1253. It is one of the most ancient Castelnau of the Gers and became a fortified town.
The Castelnau was composed of a fortified town with its battlements. The village was also surrounded by battlements and moats. We can observe some pieces of battlements which are still present near Astaffort road. Three doors enabled to reach the site:
- the Uzan door, on the West side, with harrow and drawbridge
- the Levant door
- the door which gives an access to the fortified town.
This castle was broken down near 14th century. Its stones were offered for building a church on the same place.
During the 17th century, Miradoux was hardly affected by the cane of Condé in 1652, the plague and by the blaze.
In the 18th and 19th centuries, Miradoux became a flourished village because of a rich agriculture and its exhibitions. The burg is built on a promontory which overlooks the Auroue and Arratz tributaries.
The village keeps from its history some vestiges:
- Battlements
- A church of the 14th century
- A market place of the 16th century
- The fountain of Condé
- The Uzan door
- The castle of Fieux
- Saint Jacques of Compostelle path (GR 65 of Puy en Velay) which is secured.
We can also find in Miradoux sportive and cultural events:
- Rally at the end of July
- Music training during the last week of July
- Cantonal market during the third Sunday of July
- Local festival during the last weekend of August
- Exposition of cribs the second Sunday of December and the second Sunday of January.
